Megan Meijer--My Take On The Story
Megan Taylor Meier
(November 6, 1992 – October 17, 2006)
She was an American teenager from Dardenne Prairie, Missouri who committed suicide by hanging at the age of 13 years, 11 months.
Her suicide was attributed to cyber-bullying through the social networking website MySpace. The account through which the bullying took place purportedly belonged to a 16-year-old male named "Josh Evans."
However, Lori Drew, the mother of a former friend of Meier, later admitted creating the MySpace account with her daughter and Ashley Grills, Lori Drew's 18 year old employee. Several people contributed to running the faked account, including Drew.
To Megan,
I know that it seems like life doesn't always leave you many options, but you chose the option that was permanent and can't be undone.
I'm sorry that you felt you had nowhere to turn to in the crisis that you had. I wish there were more available resources or avenues you could have taken before you chose this drastic method.
I pray that your soul will finally be at rest.
There are thousands of people struggling with the same decision that you made, and I hope that your story will show them, that there is ALWAYS another way out.
RIP...
