WHAT THE f*&^/?

Okay so I volunteer for a crisis hotline....but most call it a suicide hotline.

Which is it?

The correct term is a crisis hotline because not everyone that calls in wants to commit suicide. Sometimes there are people that want someone else to talk to. 

Hell...they sometimes want to go over their grocery list or talk about who got voted off American Idol. It doesn't matter to me. I just listen.

They don't have friends or family members that even give a flying fcuk. Sometimes they want a nonjudgemental voice to hear them out. The last thing someone that someone who wants to off themselves wants to hear is "DON'T YOU KNOW HOW SELFISH THIS IS?" or "HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT HOW THIS IS GOING TO MAKE ME FEEL?"

How frigging selfish is that? If your loved one confides in you and tells you that they may want to harm themselves....BY ALL MEANS, DON'T TELL THEM HOW IT'S GOING TO AFFECT YOU AND YOUR LIFE!

GEEZ PEOPLE GET A GRIP!

Now why does suicidegirl volunteer for a CRISIS hotline?

Its very therapeutic actually. 

The only people that can understand suicide are those that know what its like to want to die.
