Perhaps blooper isn't the right word for it. It was a bit of a rambling when asked a question that literally made no sense. Chalk it up to nerves? Possibly. However, she was taunted and teased after this video was shown around the world and viewed up to 65 million times at the time of this writing.
I find it kind of strange in a country where many Americans can't even identify well known countries on a map to turn on this young lady for her bumbling answer. We all have moments ( I won't call them blonde moments because that's degrading) however, many of us are lucky for them to not be caught on television when we have them.
When did we become so judgmental? So much so that this woman's humiliation became our source of laughter? This is sad. Look at the fun that some of us get at watching others be humiliated. Watch American Idol and see those who have no business pursuing a music career, to be told that they need to do something else. Humiliation turned into ratings gold for the networks and pretty soon, countries all over the world had their own shows that were similar to the popular franchise.
This could be a nightmare and in this day and age of social media, this could be anyone! This could happen to you. When someone humiliates themselves in front of many people, everyone will react very differently. In this case, it is important that we don't rush to judgment and realize that no one is perfect and that we all make mistakes. Some more or less public than others.
I wouldn't be so quick to tell someone to kill themselves over a bad moment. Especially in a first rate country with a third rate education.
