Four Times That Tanay Jackson Blatantly Lied in the Media

Just in case you don't pay attention to celebrity news, we will spell it out for you. Tanay Jackson is a singer/songwriter who has made claims that Tito Jackson, from the Jackson 5, is her father. She made those claims recently on a show that airs on Lifetime television, The Jacksons: Next Generation. She took a DNA test and it showed that Tito Jackson's sons, singing group 3T, have no relationship with her.

Many people thought that would be the end of the story but it didn't. She continues to make baseless accusations about the Jacksons, even claiming that she was kidnapped and her DNA forcibly taken from her. She even called them criminals and called the matriarch, Katherine Jackson, an old hag.

Here are four times where Tanay Jackson was caught in a big lie. We didn't include the obvious one that Tito was her father, because that would be too...well obvious.

4. That her episodes were a ratings boon for Lifetime.

Recently on a college radio station, she was interviewed by two of the most clueless radio jocks of all time. She was allowed to make some egregious statements about her life and the Jackson family as a whole, including calling Katherine Jackson "an old hag" and nearly called her a bitch, but she caught herself. This was met with mostly silence from the radio jocks. I refuse to call them radio personalities, because even Howard Stern would have at least called her out on that. But they didn't and allowed her to spew nonsense without calling her on it.

The radio interview was taken down unfortunately, because it includes some "gems" that would have continued to destroy her credibility.

In regards to a "ratings boon for Lifetime". This isn't remotely true and I don't think she is sophisticated to know that once you're in the media spotlight, people will and do fact check statements.

Where was the ratings boon for her episode that aired on the 16th? The numbers fell and came in 77th for Friday night against all the other shows airing at that time.

This is the show for "The Mother of All Confrontations" where it is discerned that she is not their sister. This was not a boon for Lifetime as she stated on the radio program. Since the last episode, she was responsible for a .08 change in the share. So, this is not true. Hardly worth a bump.

This is the episode on the 10/30/15...

For the initial episode, ratings fell for the show. When the DNA tests were revealed, the ratings got a slight increase, but not a ratings boon. The show didn't even make it to the top ten for all shows that aired on Friday night. Not even in the top thirties. The second episode, where she wasn't even shown, made it to 49th in the time slot.   Seriously? Her face wasn't even on the show, with the exception of the very beginning, and that episode ranked 49th for Friday night. Not a ratings boon. She made this comment on the interview with the radio station that disappeared.

A huge whopper, if you ask me. 49th is not a ratings boon. The episode where she aired, the show fell to 57th. Not a ratings boon. A failure.

3. Her relationship with Michael Jackson.

IF one will make comments about being in the Jackson family, you have to expect questions about Michael Jackson. He's arguably the most famous entertainer of our time and possibly ever. She has made quite a few comments about Michael. She stated that she was in, "Remember the Time" video. That was in 1991. She stated that she was born in 1983. She stated that she was a "dancer", which would have made her all of seven or eight years old. There were NO child dancers in that video.

Many people suspect that she was born much earlier than that. She wouldn't even tell her real age on the show. If you're looking to be transparent, then why would you keep silent on your age? Why not show your birth certificate?

She stated that she talked to Michael and he gave her all this advice. While he cared for 3T after their mother died, do you think he had time to give her all this advice, but don't mention to his nephews that they had a sister out there? AS loving as Michael was, do you think he would have treated her any different? DO you think he would neglect to tell his family members that she was a  part of their family? I don't think so.

"I always felt like I couldn't do this.... How are you ever going to know what you can do if you don't try?"--Michael Jackson to Tanay Jackson
Tanay's famous picture with her and Michael Jackson.
Gee, I want one. Maybe I can photoshop him in...

During the interview, she was asked if she had any pictures with she and Michael together. She states she took one after he died. Yeah, that's a bit of a crazy statement. Even with these two on the microphone, it elicited quite a look from them.  But then clears it up and said she took a picture with her standing next to a poster of Michael. It's a bit disingenuous if you ask me. Stating that you took a picture with one of the greatest entertainers of all time, and then state that it was a picture of you standing next to a picture of him.

If this counts, then I'm in a relationship with Ludacris.

(no I'm not)

2.  That's she's blazing the charts and that her brothers 3T are jealous of her success.

This is one of the biggest and most annoying. They are uttered from the words of a desperate woman. To state that 3T, the biggest group in Europe second only to the Spice Girls would be jealous of her is asinine. Tanay brags about going on different media outlets and that they are jealous of her. However, their last name really is Jackson. When they speak, the media listens. She also seems to forget is that the only reason why people have listened to her is because of her "connection" to the Jackson family. She's fooled people into thinking that she is a Jackson when she's not.

That's why they listen to her. Her last name. The Jacksons are one of the most famous families in the world. She gets irritated when people want to talk about her "family" but doesn't understand that's why they are even there talking to her in the first place. It sure isn't her music. It's the image that she's trying to live up to as a member of the Jackson family. They could care less about her music. They are in her face because she is the only member of the "family" that will willingly speak to the media.

These are the charts that she was speaking about.

Yeah, this ain't the Billboard charts, however, she should be proud of herself for her music. Absolutely. But to put down 3T while ignoring their musical contributions is arrogant and wrong.

They've performed all over the world and sold over three million records. Numbers that Tanay has yet to even come close to. She doesn't even have an album. Just an EP.

If the Jacksons wanted to make a statement to the press, the media would be swarming within minutes! If they wanted to come out with family secrets, the bidding war for that book could reach into the millions. Why in the world would they be jealous? It's like being jealous of yourself. No reason for it. They choose not to talk to the media, which is why they rely on Tanay to talk for them.

Yet, another article where the media was suckered in. This woman has no relationship with the Jackson children and yet, here she is commenting on events. She's never met these people and yet she's running to media outlets doing interviews. This interview mostly focuses on her  "career" than it does anything else. It's shameful and this should have been stopped a long time ago. The Jacksons should have come out the woodwork and stated that she is not family back then and not waited until 2015 to attempt to discredit her.

Tanay seems like an incredibly ambitious and even talented young woman. If she just dropped this "Michael Jackson is my Uncle and Tito is my father nonsense" she would be okay. The only thing she's done is invite a lot of unnecessary drama into her life, destroyed her credibility, and made herself into a joke. That's not good. She even had a suicide attempt which is serious. She needs to get help and stop with the delusions. It also doesn't help that she has a small group of people that believe her and egg her nonsense on.

1. Her Name

Her legal name, according to many sources, is Tanesha Janelle Rodney. However, she probably had it legally changed to Tanay Jackson.

On one episode of The Jacksons; The Next Generation, she told  Jermaine Jackson that she goes by, "Tanay".  Her name is Tanesha. In that horrible interview, she stated, "What do you think the J stands for in my name?" I wanted to scream "JANELLE!" NOT JACKSON. Yet, this technically is not really a lie. It's misrepresentation. She wants to keep her mother out of it, which is understandable. However, it has been proven scientifically that she is not related to this family. She has misrepresented herself many times, especially to promoters and others who have hired her as a member of the Jackson family. She's lied to members of the media who she told that she was the daughter of Tito Jackson.

Even if her claims were true, she should have at least been more ambiguous and told people that Tito at least may be her father instead of definitively stating that he is. I think more people would have more sympathy for her situation instead of how things are now. This won't go away as long as she continues with this nonsense The more angry she gets, the more she lashes out against the Jackson family. She has called names and alluded to certain things. (Michael and the molestation trials).

She needs to realize that she has gotten as far as she did because of her claims, not because of her talent. The LA Times agrees with my assertion in their last article about her.

Tanay Jackson relies on family lineage, not talent, for music debut

  • Tanay Jackson, daughter of Tito and niece of Michael, is trying to make her mark in music. But she's banking on the family name, and not talent to do so.
Tanay Jackson, daughter of Tito and niece of Michael, is trying to make her… (Tanay Jackson )
“When your last name is Jackson, people naturally expect incredible talent.” That’s how the release begins announcing the arrival of Tanay Jackson, daughter of Tito Jackson, on the music scene.
What comes next is the typical bombastic overhype of one’s talents in hopes of drumming up attention from the press.
She’s a “rockin' hot performer” in one sentence. A “smoking hot musical powerhouse” in another. And a “dynamo” elsewhere. Of course multiple mentions of being Michael’s niece flood the release.
"'She looks incredible onstage — a great performer' and 'Tanay obviously takes after her Aunt Janet' are just some of the accolades bestowed on this talented young beauty,” the release goes on to say before offering links to her YouTube videos and performances.
Naturally we took the bait. Partially because we didn't know Tito had a daughter (an earlier presser we dug up said the aspiring singer didn’t find out about “her place in the Jackson family lineage” until she was 17), but mostly because of the lineage....

You can read the rest at the link. Yes, she relies on that name all the time, even though in interviews, she tries to play down her "family connection".  There is no family connection. There is no family name.
These days, she has a private Twitter account and she doesn't really mention Tito being her father too often on her social media accounts. Ever since the disastrous interview with the radio station, all has been quiet on the Tanay front.

Its also sad because there are a couple of songs that I'd like to purchase from her. Spotlight is one. I find myself humming that one all the  time. However, I could never purchase from someone who is a fraud. I can't do it. There are too many Jackson fans out there vs. Tanay fans and she will learn that she will LOSE when it comes to this family.

But even if she goes away in the darkness, there will be others that will pop out the woodwork, claiming some association with the Jackson clan.  But none has been as persistent as Tanay. No one.
